Eclipse Cinemas Lifford-Stabane is a family owned business (Barrett Family) operating at the Three Rivers Centre Lifford, Co Donegal. The cinema has been managed by Louise Grieve Doherty as General Manager since 2005.
The cinema opened as a four-screen cinema in 1996, it was later renovated with a major extension adding three additional screens and a new extensive foyer being added in 2008. In 2016 the original part of the cinema had a major refurbishment with stadium seating style seating being added. When the cinema reopened in 2008 it was rebranded Eclipse Cinemas following a rename the cinema competition. A local student came up with the name because "When you go into a studio it is bright, then the lights go down and the film starts. At the end the lights go up again, just like during an Eclipse".
It was the ambition of the founders to bring City Style cinemas to smaller towns, with the extra attractions of a warm welcome and high quality customer service that you would associate with a family-run business.
